Erin Marie Miller

Erin Marie Miller is a photographer and award-winning journalist based in Metro Detroit.

Formally educated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts with a concentration in photography and a minor in political science, her photographic work has been commissioned by magazines, newspapers and brands since 2011.

Beyond visuals, Erin’s reporting has been published by magazines and news outlets since 2014. She has written about public policy, small business, the arts, technology and more over the last decade. In 2021, she was awarded a first-place Excellence in Journalism Award from the Society of Professional Journalists Detroit chapter for her reporting on minority-owned small businesses in Detroit during the pandemic.

Before returning to Michigan in late 2019, Erin spent half a decade living and working in Los Angeles. She doesn’t own a television and prefers seeing plays to watching movies. When she isn’t behind the lens or doing research for a story, you can find her browsing bookshops and record stores, checking out art exhibits at galleries and museums, playing chess with friends at local cafes, or curled up at home with a cup of coffee and a book.
